Mission

Founded in 2016 and relaunched in 2024, the Georgetown Journal of History is an independent, student-run publication that seeks to showcase outstanding undergraduate historical scholarship on a range of topics.

Understanding the value of engagement in undergraduate scholarship, the Journal’s editing and publication process prioritizes collaboration. Our leadership reviews Print submissions blindly before collectively selecting articles for publication, and our Print editing teams work in tandem with authors over the course of a semester to produce excellent, long-form work. Our Blog features multimedia, short-form presentations of history that engage with the Georgetown and DC communities.

Process

Submissions to the semesterly Print issue of the Journal are open to any undergraduate student. Submissions of any kind are welcome as long as they advance a historical argument and were written during the student’s undergraduate study. Detailed submission guidelines can be found here.
